Established in 1968, Hellenic Ship Supply, Inc. (“Hellenic”) and second-generation principal, Alexander Korakis, operate as a leading ship chandler serving the ports of the Southeastern region of the United States. In its near 40th year of business, Hellenic maintains strong relationships with more than 2,000 ship owners and managers worldwide. Company officers, office staff and delivery drivers understand local work custom procedures and official requirements for hassle-free port entries and departures. Company drivers have clean backgrounds and have been screened and liscensed by all major Southeastern U.S. port authorities for authorized entry to all Southeastern U.S. ports.

The executive officers Hellenic and its leadership team hold more than 50 years of specific maritime, ship supply, Web development, MIS, information technology, strategic world marketing, financial, and business management experience. The company delivers upon its promise to all clients: on-time, direct service of superior products at the best value. A in-warehouse inventory of more than 5,000 products and a product resource network of hundreds of thousands of products from various oils, ethnic and conventional provisions to specialty marine product and charts & publications ensure ships sail with all requested supplies.

Alexander Korakis, Second Generation Company Officer

With more than 20 years of maritime industry and business development experience, “Alex” Korakis is well known among ship owners/managers and suppliers worldwide. He brings to Hellenic a prolific number of business contacts and strong relationships. Korakis has provided product distribution, workforce management and business technology development for a number of ship owners.

As a ship chandler, he is a known and trusted supplier in the maritime industry. Of his personal pursuits, Korakis is a notable world sailing competitor with skipper and tactical leadership skills. In addition, he is proficient with computer networks, technology-based network administration, network configuration and e-commerce marketing and business channels.

Presently Korakis serves as a member of the board of directors of NAMS. He has attended numerous ISSA Conventions, including the most recent 2006 convention in Singapore.
